Research areas

The International Scientific School of Clinical and Experimental Pathophysiology has a fundamental focus on identifying the mechanisms of diseases and developing efficient methods of diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation based on the principles of evidence-based medicine.

Promising areas to be elaborated by the Scientific School at IEU:

І. Pathophysiology of the kidneys and water-salt metabolism:

♦  Pathogenetic rationale for the treatment of acute renal damage and acute renal failure

♦   Pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease and its features in case of:

а) pyelonephritis

б) diabetes mellitus

в) hypertension

♦  Definition of the appropriate level of sodium intake

ІІ. Clinical pathophysiology:

♦  Pathogenesis of atherosclerosis

♦  Endothelial dysfunction and its role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus and renal pathology

♦  Pathogenesis of cold-related diseases

III. Theoretical foundations of medicine:

♦  Theory of disease

♦  Theory of health

♦  Somatic regulatory imbalance as a theoretical basis

♦  Functional metabolic continuum..
